Frequently
Asked Questions
Perhaps therapy is a new process for you, or you have questions as you look for a new provider. Below are some common questions and answers about therapy and what it may be like to work with me.

What are your psychotherapy session fees?
View the session fees for individual, couples or integration psychotherapy under the Services page.
View the session fees for ketamine-assisted psychotherapy (KAP) under the KAP page.
Do you accept insurance?
No, clients will be responsible for session fees as I do not accept insurance. I provide a superbill detailing services provided and you may or may not be able to utilize your out-of-network benefits by submitting claims to your insurance company. Please call the number on your insurance card to inquire about mental health coverage to determine if your benefits might cover a portion of your sessions.
How does therapy work?
The initial session is a great time for me to get to know you and what you are looking to get out of work together, and for you to decide if we’re a good fit. We’ll work together to come up with the direction or path for treatment based on what matters most to you. The question we’ll want to explore is “if you are successful in this process and work, how would you know? What would be different in your life?”
How often are sessions?
Your treatment is yours, and we will customize the treatment approach including frequency in order to balance the work of therapy with the rest of your life. I do ask that clients are willing to commit to a couple weekly sessions initially, however, I see clients in varying cadences whether weekly, every-other week, or monthly.
How long will therapy last?
This is your question to answer and will depend on your goals, likely ranging from a few sessions to several months or years. Some individuals have specific problems they need to solve and might find that one or two sessions is sufficient. Others may have deeper trauma work that will require more extensive therapy. The depth and duration of therapy will be based on your needs and wants.
When can you meet?
My typical hours of availability for client sessions are Monday through Friday 9am to 5pm. Extended sessions or ketamine assisted psychotherapy sessions may be scheduled outside these hours, in evenings or weekends.
How do I book a session?
I am currently on a waitlist for new clients.
Existing clients can request sessions in the client portal. It always reflects real-time availability and allows for scheduling a few months out.
How do I access online sessions?
I use SimplePractice, a HIPAA-compliant service, for online sessions. The link is included in appointment reminders and works with modern browsers without plugins, and mobile apps are available for iOS and Android.
Where is your office located?
For in-person sessions my office is located at 2130 Arlington Ave. in Upper Arlington. My office and the waiting area are on the second floor, at the far end of the hallway above the South of Lane cafe. You are welcome to use the entrance on Guilford Rd, right next to the South of Lane Cafe, as that’s closer and may be easier. Please text me when you arrive and I can meet you to take you back to the office.
Do you prescribe medications?
No, offering prescriptions or providing clients with any type of medication or psychedelic substances is outside of the scope of my practice.
